My Segway Tour of Washington DC, 16 Jul 2007

[back] . One of the highlights of my visit was fulfilling my dream of learning to ride a Segway. I found this place that gave three-hour tours of Washington DC. I was frankly not so much interested in the tour as much as the fact that the tour would last three hours. Way cool. So I put down my money and signed myself up.

Jump to During Phase I of my Segway Experience, we developed basic navigation skills in the safety of a nearby alleyway.
Jump to During Phase II of my Segway Experience, we ventured out on the streets of Washington, DC, putting along at the lowest (black key) speed.
Jump to During Phase III of my Segway Experience, we used the yellow key that let us speed along at an intermediate number of miles per hour. (The fastest key was locked up back at the office.)

Purported inspiration for the Segway. Yeah, I can see it.

Here we are in the alley next to the Segway shop. We had to practice in a safe and confined place. I got somebody to shoot some pictures of me on my Segway. The alley is starting to fill up with the other Segwayfairers. Look Ma, No Hands!

Listen up! Notice the rain coat in case it rains. 50% chance of thunder showers, so the Segways get coats. Do the riders get coats? You put your Left Foot in, you put your Left Foot out, you put your Left Foot in and you drive your Seg about.
